There's a party in my pance and everybody's coming..

I haven't the slightest clue who The Dance Party are and to be honest I couldn't care less, what I do know is that everything Pance Party touch turns into face-melting electro gold..

Bonus Traxxx -

Shakira - She Wolf (Pance Party Remix)
The Presets - Kicking and Screaming (Pance Party's Never Grow Old Remix)

Drink Up Buttercup

First post for a long time (no excuse offered).

I have to admit I had not heard of Drink Up Buttercup from Philadelphia, until happening across this remix and whats more I may well not have listened to if it wasn't for the part of my brain that is constantly occupied with Andrew W.K. based early 00's nostalgia, but anyway boy am I glad I did. Easily my favourite remix of the winter so far WK's take on 'Even Think' is a five minute slice of gloriously hyper disco perfection.

Welcome to screamy-hard-step.

If there's one band I never thought I'd write about here, The Jackson 5 aside, then Enter Shikari were probably it, that is until getting about a third of the way through new album 'Common Dreads' and realising that I'd been turning up the volume so frequently there was no more noise available, much to my disapointment.

I'm incapable of accurately reviewing this album, I suppose fundamentally it's a mashup of post hardcore and trance, but that could mean anything. This album has a sound entirely of Enter Shikari's own making. I love it and I'm not even a teenager, honestly.

To see just how badly that description flounders like a drunken dolphin in a bath,

go here to buy COMMON DREADS.

Probably listen to this first if you need more convincing.

If you smile listening to it, you probably should buy it shouldn't you?

Much love.

Designer Drugs

Okay, so everyone already knows all about Designer Drugs, but this wouldn't really feel like a real blog until they were featured so here it is...
New single "Zombies" is a continuation of DD's uber house sound, with plenty of remixes doing the rounds it was hard to choose a favourite but at the end of the day it was impossible to say no to Hot Pink Delorean's whacko jacko inspired mix.
If that's not enough then I should mention that they have perhaps the most impressive remix discography around?
Annie, Hail Social, Little Boots, Protokoll, Spencer Product, Mariah Carey, just some of the artists to have tracks smashed into pieces and then reconstructed in the form of NYC super-noise.

The Gay Blades

The Gay Blades deal in a brand of uncompromising glamorous garage punk that's hard to ignore, my advice to you is don't.

Tiny White Lies

Anyone (include members of the band) claiming that in late 2006 they would have believed in the possibility of insignificant indie three piece Fear of Flying's transformation and subsequent rise to become a globe stradling headline band and advertisement directors wet dream, should be met with caution.

White Lies have seemingly grown into a position all of their own, with a stream gloomy tracks diverse enough to be transformed by seemingly unlikely remixes from Crystal Castles, Yuksek and Rory Phillips.

Farewell to the Fairground - Yuksek remix

They also found time to record a surprisingly charming Kanye West cover for radio 1..
